Just a Little Fun -- A Poodle, a Cheetah, and a Cow Were on the Playground....

The cheetah and the poodle were sharing a bowl of noodles when they heard “Boo! Moo!” coming from behind them.

“Was that from the zoo?” asked the cheetah.

“No, I think it was from the schoolyard,” the poodle said. “Let’s go see what is going on.”

When they got to the schoolyard, they saw a strange sight. Standing near the sandbox was a large object, covered with a sheet. All they could see of what was under it was feet – well, hooves, really.

“Yoo-hoo!” called the cheetah, while the poodle hid behind her.

“Yes, yes,” said the voice they had heard before. “It’s me, Sweetie Cow.”

“Why are you covered with a sheet? Oh, it’s Percy Poodle, by the way. Cherrie Cheetah is with me.”

“I’m practicing for Halloween,” Sweetie answered. “It’s coming up soon, you know. I want to go trick-or-treating this year.”

“Whatever for?” exclaimed Cherrie.

“For the goodies, of course,” Sweetie answered. “I’ve heard the wee humans speak of them, and I’m in the mood to get my share, too.”

“You know those are all people food, don’t you? You know – candy, cookies, and stuff like that,” Percy said.

“No corn or hay?” Sweetie said, surprised. “No sweet-feed cubes?”

“Not a one,” Percy said. “And they aren’t especially good about sharing with cows or cats or dogs, either.”

“Your costume is pretty cool, though,” Cherrie said, trying to cheer up the disappointed bovine.

“Well, pooh!” Sweetie sighed. “In that case, I think I’ll go back to Farmer Annabelle’s field then. Maybe I’ll keep the costume for a little while longer, though.”

“That sounds like a great plan,” Percy said. “We’ll see you soon.”

“Good-bye,” Cherrie called out.

“Toodles,” Sweetie said, as she wandered back toward the farm.
