What a crazy month! We got the county budget finished, I made some progress (although not as much as I wanted) on my next novel, and then, there was a REALLY important addition. On August 21, Gunnar Scott Martin joined Kamren, Colin, Addie, and Aubrey in the latest generation of the family. He is absolutely, perfectly awesome, too! I have decided that nieces/nephews and great-nieces/nephews (or is it grand-nieces/nephews?) are the absolute best way to have kids.
If all that wasn't enough excitement, I found out late last week that I was selected for a writers' retreat in...wait for it...Rochester, Vermont. So, I get to combine a few days of vacation with a NaNoWriMo push, all with beautiful scenery outside my window. I can hardly wait!
For those who may have missed the announcement, I have signed a contract with Sweet Promise Press for the first three books of The Board Games Murders series: Scrabbling for the Culprit, Operating on a Hunch, and Cluing in on a Killer. Right now, they are scheduled for release on January 17, January 24, and January 31, respectively. I think you're going to like getting to know Cassie, Lonnie, and Callie Parker, the adult triplets who solve these mysteries.
And, on that note, I better get back to writing -- that deadline is looming larger every day!
